The Reality Check ArchivesThe Reality Check was an informal print newsletter published by Robert C. Nasir from 1992 to 1994. The subhead was "An Informal Publication For And By Individuals With An Interest In A Rational Perspective," and it's target audience was those interested in Objectivism. The majority of it's content is now only available in the original, printed form, as the copyrights are now held by others. However, some of the content for which The Reality Check retains the copyrights may be of general interest to Objectivists, and so is reproduced here. |
China: Made In America (by Robert C.
Nasir, Issue #1, January
1992)
... Imagine that one of the store owners has
arranged to force his workers to work
only for him. They have no means to leave - the
owner has effectively closed all avenues out of his employ.
Imagine that he does not always pay them,
often beats or tortures or murders them with little or no reason,
and in general forces a series of unbelievable policies on them,
including a bizarre maternity policy in which first-born children
are supported by all, and any additional pregnancies are forcibly, sometimes bloodily terminated.

An Editors Note
"Browsing The Laissez Faire Books Catalog"
from Robert C. Nasir
...The February 1994 Laissez Faire Books catalog is simply disgusting, and any professional intellectual who thinks that (a) Ayn Rand was right, and (b) that dealing with this organization can forward the cause of reason, and consequent freedom, I cannot credit with an honest mistake.

(by Robert C. Nasir, Issue #4, April 1992)

disgusting things you might be forwarding - until you DO know.

The Call Of The
Environmentalists (by Kevin Watson)
``I don't care! It doesn't matter!''
``What is that?'' asked Becky.
``That,'' I said, ``is the Call of the Environmentalists.''
An Editors Note:
A note on the impotence of the current administration...
Coming from an Objectivist perspective, some may wonder how people
such as those in the current administration can possibly believe in
the programs they advocate...
